Tip from the Nutritionist: What to eat after surgery !

When our body undergoes surgery, side effects such as pain, fatigue, lack of appetite, etc, can cause a negative impact on our body during the healing and recovery process. Thus, choosing the right food to eat is necessary. Below is some dietary recommendation by HK Nutritionist Mr. Franky Au.

Get enough energy and protein
After surgery, our body needs extra nutrients to help with wound healing and this includes carbohydrates, fats, and protein. These nutrients will be converted into energy and provide calories for our daily needs.

In addition, adequate intake of micronutrients such as vitamin A, C, and zinc can also play an important role in our body in wound healing and enhancing immunity.
✅ Vitamin A, food sources such as meat, vegetables
✅ Vitamin C food sources such as fruits, vegetables
✅ Zinc food sources such as legume, red meat
